A WordPress Migration Service That Moves Everything, Rankings Included

Moving to a new host, a new domain or onto WordPress from another platform. I handle the files, database, DNS, email records and redirects so the move is a non-event for your visitors.

Two laptops on a desk connected by a glowing cable, one showing an old layout and the other a clean new one

Most migrations go wrong in the small details. A forgotten email record, a hard-coded image path, a form that still sends to the old server, or a set of pages that lose their addresses and never get redirected. None of these show up on the day you switch. They show up three weeks later as missing enquiries or a slow slide in traffic.

My website migration services cover three kinds of move. Host to host, when you are leaving slow or overpriced hosting. Domain to domain, when a business rebrands. And platform to WordPress, from Wix, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal or a hand-built site. Each has its own checklist, and I follow it every time, including the parts that feel unnecessary.

Before anything changes, I take a full backup, crawl the existing site and record every URL, title and redirect already in place. The new copy is tested on a private address. The switch happens at a quiet time with a short DNS time-to-live, so if anything needs reversing it can be done in minutes.

When it makes sense to call me

  • Your host is slow, unreliable or about to raise prices
  • You are rebranding and changing your domain name
  • You have outgrown Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy’s builder
  • Your Joomla or Drupal site is out of date and hard to maintain
  • You need to merge two websites into one
  • A previous move cost you traffic and you want to avoid a repeat

What you get

  • Pre-move inventory

A crawl of every URL, plus a record of titles, metadata, redirects, forms and integrations.

  • Complete transfer

Files, database, media library, users, and settings moved and verified, not just copied.

  • Platform conversions

Content rebuilt in WordPress from Wix, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal or static HTML, with layouts recreated.

  • Redirect map

One-to-one 301 redirects for every changed address, tested before and after launch.

  • DNS and email

Domain, SSL, MX, SPF and DKIM records handled so email keeps working through the move.

  • After-care

Search Console checks, broken link scans and a watch on traffic for the weeks after.

How it works

  1. Inventory and backupFull backup of the current site and a crawl of every page and asset.
  2. Build the new homeThe site is moved or rebuilt on the new host or platform and tested privately.
  3. SwitchDNS changes at a quiet hour, SSL issued and redirects switched on.
  4. VerifyForms, email, checkout and tracking tested live; Search Console and crawl checks for two weeks.

Why work with me on this

I have moved sites between almost every combination of host and platform since the FrontPage days. The checklist I use is long because each item on it is something I once saw go wrong.

More about my background

Mihail has been effectively managing our web site, for the past 10+ years. He has not only been managing it, but he designed and developed it. On the web site he effectively implemented a catalog system and downloadable resources for the publications. We are very satisfied with the excellent quality of work that he has been doing for us.

Questions people ask

Will my website go down during the migration?

Usually not in any way visitors notice. The new copy is ready before the switch, and DNS changes are made with a short time-to-live so the change-over is quick.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

Not if the move is done properly. Rankings drop when URLs change without redirects or content goes missing. I prevent both and monitor closely after launch.

Can you move my email too?

I make sure your existing email keeps working by carrying over the right DNS records. Moving mailboxes to a new provider such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 can be added.

Can you move a site from Wix to WordPress?

Yes. Wix cannot export a site directly, so pages are rebuilt in WordPress. I recreate the content and layout, then redirect the old Wix URLs to the new ones.
