WordPress Malware Removal and Hacked Website Repair

If your site is redirecting visitors, showing spam, flagged by Google or blocked by your host, I clean it properly, close the way in, and help get warnings removed.

Finding out your website has been hacked is stressful. Customers report strange redirects, Google shows "This site may be hacked", your host suspends the account, or thousands of spam pages appear in search results under your domain. The urgent goal is to get the site clean and back online. The important goal is to make sure it does not happen again next week.

Quick fixes often fail because malware rarely lives in one file. Attackers leave backdoors in plugins, uploads folders, the database and even fake admin users, so that a surface clean-up is undone within days. My hacked website repair process is thorough. I take a forensic copy, compare every file against known-good versions, search the database for injected code, remove rogue users and scheduled tasks, and reinstall core, themes and plugins from trusted sources.

Once clean, I find and close the way in, which is usually an outdated plugin or a stolen password, harden the site, reset every credential and request reviews from Google and any blacklists. You get a short written summary of what happened and what was done, which is useful if you need to tell customers or an insurer.

When it makes sense to call me

  • Visitors are being redirected to other websites
  • Google shows a hacked or dangerous-site warning
  • Japanese, pharmacy or casino spam pages appear under your domain
  • Your host has suspended the account for malware
  • Unknown admin users or files have appeared
  • Your site was cleaned before, but the infection came back

What you get

  • Emergency triage

Assessment of the infection, a forensic backup and, if needed, a maintenance page to protect visitors.

  • Full clean-up

Files, database, users and scheduled tasks cleaned; core, themes and plugins reinstalled from source.

  • Backdoor removal

Hidden access points found and removed so the attacker cannot simply return.

  • Root cause

The vulnerability that let them in identified and patched.

  • Blacklist and warning removal

Google Search Console review requests and blacklist delisting.

  • Hardening and report

Why work with me on this

Over two decades I have cleaned up WordPress, Joomla and custom PHP sites after every kind of attack. The clean-up is the easy part. Understanding how they got in, and making sure they cannot repeat it, is the part that matters.

Questions people ask

How do I know if my WordPress site is hacked?

Common signs are unexpected redirects, spam pages in Google, unknown admin users, Google or browser warnings, a sudden traffic drop or a suspension notice from your host.

How long does malware removal take?

Most clean-ups are completed within one to two business days. Heavily infected or very large sites can take longer.

Will my site be removed from Google?

Google may show warnings or drop pages while the site is infected. Once clean, I request a review in Search Console; warnings are usually lifted within days.

How do I stop it happening again?

Keep software updated, use strong unique passwords with two-factor authentication, run a firewall and keep off-site backups. A care plan covers all of this.
