A Website Speed Optimization Service That Fixes the Cause, Not the Score

Faster pages keep visitors, help rankings and lift conversions. I find out why your pages are slow on real phones and fix it in the images, code, hosting and caching.

Long-exposure light trails streaking along a dark city road at night

A slow website costs you twice. Visitors leave before the page appears, and Google uses page experience signals, including Core Web Vitals, as part of how it ranks pages. On a phone with a weak signal, a page that feels fine on your office computer can take several seconds to become usable.

Many page speed optimization services chase a score in a testing tool by stacking caching plugins and deferring every script until something breaks. I start with the causes instead. Oversized images and video, unused CSS and JavaScript from builders and plugins, render-blocking third-party scripts, too many web fonts, slow database queries, and hosting that cannot keep up. Each one is measured, then fixed at the source.

Results are measured with field data from real visitors, the same Core Web Vitals data Google uses, as well as lab tests. You get a before-and-after report and a short list of habits that keep the site fast, such as how to size images before uploading them.

When it makes sense to call me

  • Pages take more than a few seconds to load on a phone
  • Search Console reports poor Core Web Vitals
  • Your page builder or theme adds heavy scripts to every page
  • Images are uploaded straight from a camera or phone
  • Your hosting plan is the cheapest available
  • Speed plugins have made things worse, not better

What you get

  • Speed audit

Lab and field data analysed to identify the real bottlenecks on key templates.

  • Image optimisation

Modern formats, correct sizes, lazy loading and compression across the site.

  • Code clean-up

Unused CSS and JavaScript removed, third-party scripts delayed or replaced.

  • Fonts and layout

Fewer, self-hosted fonts and fixed layout shifts.

  • Server and caching

Page, object and browser caching, CDN setup and hosting upgrades where needed.

  • Before-and-after report

Core Web Vitals and load times compared, with guidance to keep them there.

How it works

  1. MeasureBaseline from Search Console, PageSpeed Insights and real-user data.
  2. DiagnoseEach slow template broken down by what is costing time.
  3. OptimiseChanges made on staging, tested for visual and functional regressions.
  4. VerifyDeployed and re-measured, with field data tracked over the next month.

Why work with me on this

I took Catchpoint’s Lightning Fast Web Performance course in 2022 and wrote about page speed in modern SEO for 1st on the List. This site is built to the same standard: no page builder, self-hosted fonts and compressed images.

Questions people ask

What are Core Web Vitals?

Three measurements Google uses to judge page experience: Largest Contentful Paint (loading), Interaction to Next Paint (responsiveness) and Cumulative Layout Shift (visual stability).

Will a faster site rank higher?

Speed is one ranking signal among many, so it rarely transforms rankings alone. It does reliably improve engagement and conversions, which is reason enough.

Do I need new hosting?

Sometimes. If the server is the bottleneck, no amount of front-end work will fix it. I will tell you honestly whether hosting is the problem. See managed cloud hosting.

Can you speed up a page builder site?

Yes, often significantly, by removing unused features and assets. Very heavy builder sites sometimes benefit more from a lighter rebuild, and I will tell you which applies.

Talk to me about speed optimization

A few lines about your site and what is bothering you is enough. You will get a reply from me within one business day: what I would look at first, and what it would roughly involve.
